Branded
Branded by Simon Bent was our biggest community play project to date. It involved over 110 volunteers drawn from young people and members of the community in London. The multi-media piece incorporated drama, film, music, media and physical theatre to create an exhilarating theatrical event that explored the environment, ecology and consumerism. It offered all those that took part a rewarding and inspiring creative experience, including skills and personal development and of course the opportunity to perform on our world famous Old Vic stage. An audience of over 5,000 local people and schools were then offered free tickets to see the show.

'Never have I been so proud in my role as Artistic Director of The Old Vic than I was that night of Somme Theatre. Seeing all of those young people and community members working so well together in something of such quality and ambition was truly inspiring.'
Kevin Spacey, Artistic Director
